The film festival without films - Karlovy Vary

I once read that in Europe there are 4 film festivals that are highly important and known. Cannes, Berlin, San Sebastian (of course) and Karlovy Vary. Moreover Robert De Niro was there and nightlife during the festival is supossed to be great. So why don´t we go??? Let´s take the car!!!

Karlovy Vary is a spa resort 120 km to the north of Prague. It is a really beatiful little town divided into two by the river Tepla. Karlovy Vary is very well known because of the hot water of this river whose water can be drunk in several fountains all around the town. However, be aware that with this water you can boil an egg as it goes out the tap with between 55 and 70 ºC. Apart from water tasting the city is a really well care city with an architecture similar to that we can have in Pargue. Lovely place.

It is not the first time that we have come to Karlovy Vary but definitly it is the nicest one. The normaly empty and liveless street are today plently of people that want to see the stars, or a film they have not even heard or just live like a trendy person. That is why we weren´t able to buy any ticket for any film: Sold out was written in all the signs. In conclusion, although Kalovy Vary is far more expensive during the festival and you have to book in advance (some days) for any film, it is a nice place to have a day off.
